Today’s C.A.B. adventure takes us to SE, Washington, DC to the location St. Elizabeths East Gateway Pavilion (2700 Martin Luther King Avenue SE) formerly known as St. Elizabeth Hospital. I know you are thinking what are you and C.A.B. doing at St. Elizabeth?
To my surprise they have a secret winter treasure… an Ice Slide. The hours of operation are from Noon to 5 p.m. until February 17th. Yes, they have an ice slide, concession stand, game room, and free on-site parking is available, The slide is actually made of ice and you slide down in an inner tube. It is so fast and so much fun.
C.A.B. and I had a ball; the slide is perfect for children of all ages and the best part is; it is FREE. You are required to sign a waiver for minors accompanying you. I went down the slide 5 or 6 times myself. We enjoyed the slide so much we went Friday afternoon and then back again on Sunday.
Friday, we had the place to ourselves for about an hour just C.A.B., the staff, and me. Sunday there was a little crowd but the wait was well worth it. So if you are looking for a fun ice adventure the Ice Slide is the place to be.
