The Adventures of C.A.B. goes to Maryland Day at The University of Maryland College Park. C.A.B. and I were invited to Maryland Day; I had never heard of it and this was the 16th year. Maryland Day is an exciting opportunity for prospective students to learn more about the University of Maryland. I know I know C.A.B. has a long way to go before he is ready for college, but it is never too early to start exploring.
I was blown away with how many activities they had for children. They had fire trucks, ambulances, police, military, and service vehicles for the kids to explore. You know the first place C.A.B. went to; yup you guessed it the fire trucks. The fireman was so informative; he showed Collin his gear and explained to him the different parts of the fire truck. They even had another area where the children got to put out a fire with a fire extinguisher with the fireman’s help. They got to put on the gloves and hat and got stickers at the end. He was so excited; he kept saying mommy can I do it again; after the second time I said let’s go check out the ambulance. There was so much going on we didn’t get to see it all!
They also had moon bounces, rock climbing, extreme sports moon bounce, a climbing ladder over a moon bounce and everything was free. The lines were not unbearable at all; I say we stood in line for about 7-10 minutes tops. C.A.B. was so excited to reach the top of the ladder on the moon bounce. We wanted to try the extreme sports basketball and football moon bounce, but ran out of time. There was just so much to choose from. They had a coloring and stamping table where C.A.B. caught his breath from the moon bounce until he saw the bubble machine and we were off again.
They had one area totally devoted to food; where momma could get a funnel cake and C.A.B. could get fries. Next to this section was a refecting pool where we could eat and listen to the live music a few feet away. University of Maryland Day was great and we will be back again next year. I can’t wait and they even had free parking so you are only a few steps away from the action.
