With school fastly approaching, I wanted to get C.A.B. back into school mode so, I decided to start taking him to story time.  DC Public Library has many story time and book clubs around the city for all ages (birth to teen) as well as in languages such as, French and Spanish.  Click here for a list of times and places.

I decided to take C.A.B. to the Southeast Neighborhood Library at 403 7th St SE, Washington, DC 20003.  I called ahead to see if I needed to register. I was told to arrive ten minutes before start time to get a ticket.  I was a little tardy but we had no problems getting into the event.  I was blown away by Lauren, the storyteller. She read four books including songs and dance breaks in between a Q & A Session to keep the children’s attention.  Lauren even had puppets that the children could play with after story time was over.  C.A.B. was quiet and listened attentively to the stories so that he could participate in the Q & A Session.  Story time lasted about 40 minutes; however, it didn’t feel like it.  After story time was over I took C.A.B. on a tour of the library; he wanted to take home a book.  C.A.B. enjoyed it so much we are planning to go to another library, Dorothy Height, for Pajama Time this week.
