October is here and now the air is getting crisp! This is my favorite time of the year; the leaves are changing color and time for Pumpkin Patches. C.A.B. and I love to go pick pumpkins, ride hayrides, corn mazes, and pet the animals. We are going to Montpelier Farms this weekend. I have listed below a list of farms located in Maryland and Virginia and next week; I will post a review and pictures from Montpelier Farms. Also, be on the lookout because some farms will do a Groupon, Living Social or Amazon Deal in the next coming weeks.  

 Maryland

 Butler’s Orchard

Annual Pumpkin Festival is held weekends throughout October, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pick a pumpkin, go on a hayride; explore a hay maze; enjoy crafts, and food.

Clark’s Elioak Farm

Open every day in October. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Enjoy the petting farm, a pumpkin patch, hayrides, pony rides and storybook characters from the Enchanted Forest.

Crumland Farms
7612 Willow Road, Frederick, Maryland. (301) 845-8099. Pumpkin patch, corn maze, haunted hayride, pedal carts, giant trikes, mini-barnyard, hay jump, giant slide, MooChoo train and more. September 27-November 1, 2014, Tuesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Gaver Pumpkin Patch

Open late September through October, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Free hayrides are offered Fri-Sun. The fall festival features a challenging “Casey the Cow” themed corn maze, large farm animal area, straw mountain, pedal bike track, giant slides, pirate ship, bale mazes, toddler corn maze, and play areas.

Montpelier Farms

Fall festival runs on weekends, September – October. Summers Farm

Pumpkinland festival is open September 20 – November 4, 2014. Fall farm attractions include cornfield maze, hay rides, pig races, jumping pillow. Farm animals, pick your own pumpkins, hay slides, and a flashlight corn maze.

Zekiah Farms

Open Saturdays and Sundays in October, 10 a.m. to dusk. Hayrides, cornmazes, farm animals, pumpkins, straw pit, seasonal produce, farm store, food, and more.

Shlagel Farms

Open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in October for pick your own pumpkins. The farm offers wagon rides, a petting zoo, a straw maze for the under 10 crowd, a corn box for clean sandbox type fun and educational tours for school or private groups.

Ticonderoga Farms

Now until the  first week of November, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival includes hands on pick your own pumpkins, spooky fun zones, hayrides, hillside slides and tunnels, giant jumping pillow, cow pow train ride, Noah’s Ark, petting animals, giant xylophone, bamboo panda puzzle maze, swinging bridge, antique tractors, fire pits, park-like log cabin play areas, picnic areas, weekend specials and more.

Burke Nursery and Garden Center

October 1-31, 2014. The annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin Playground runs daily from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. through October. Highlights include pirate and western-themed activities, Native American storytellers, slides, tumbling tubes, rope swings, A Monster Truck, mechanical rides, farm animals, clowns, magicians, musicians, Wobble Wagon rides and much more.
