Trucks, Trucks, Trucks, and more trucks! The Adventures of C.A.B. Goes to Touch A Truck at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. C.A.B. loves trucks so Touch A Truck was the prefect event; there were service trucks of all kinds from fire rescue, UPS, snow removal, tow trucks, and more.
The draw to touch a truck is just what the name says; you get to touch all types of service trucks and see what they actually do. You get to climb on back of a float truck, C.A.B. got to suck paper up using the controls on the Vactor 2100. He was on cloud 9. A dumptruck gave children hard hats as they enetered the dumptruck; where they blew the horn, pushed the gas pedal, and turned the steering wheel. The UPS truck gave away coloring books, crayons, and yo yos. The police vechicles gave children sticker badges.
This event had much more than trucks; they had information booths which provided information on nutritional eating, dangers of substance abuse, and a game of sleep jeaopardy to name a few. There was a food drive going on where you could donate food items. They had a dj playing music as well as airbrush tatoos for the children. C.A.B. got an airbrushed tatoo of a baseball. Chic Fil A provided meals to everyone present and children were able to take pictures with the Chic Fil A cows while they waited in line. You could even get a balloon animal made as you decided which truck you wanted to explore next.
C.A.B. loves the Touch A Truck events and we try to go to them everytime we see one happening in the DMV area. They are fun, free, and C.A.B loves them. I post all the Touch A Truck events that I come across in the Happenings section; go you will not be disappointed.
