ZooLights

Lions, tigers, Bears, and Lights!!!! Today’s adventure take us to the Zoo to see it transformed into a winter wonderland of  lights. The lights are shaped into some of the zoo’s popular attractions like giant pandas, Asian elephants,  a sea lion, and a Komodo dragon to name a few. This is my favorite Holiday adventure. I love to go see the lights at the zoo; they are so pretty and it is free. The Zoo is located at 3001 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, DC. Zoo lights is opened from 5pm to 9pm until January 1st.  You can go into the Small Mammal House, Great Ape House, Reptile Discover Center, Think Tank, and Kid’s Farm they will be open every night.

ZooLights Train

ZooLights Tubing

There are also rides available like my favorite Zoo Tubing near the Lion/Tiger Hill, the carousel, and the National Zoo Choo Choo train for 3.00 per ride or do like we do every year and buy the Living Social package that includes  4 tickets each to the carousel, tubing, and the train. C.A.B. and I love to go tubing down the hill. I think mommy has more fun than C.A.B.  The train was different this year; it was by the petting zoo and circled it.  it was great they played Choo Choo Soul from Disney Jr.. This was the first year we noticed a petting zoo and it was great because the animals were awake.  The cows mooed and momma got a little warmth. We walked to the small mammal and reptile houses and stopped in the Think Tank to get free light sticks.  There are also refreshments available for sale hot apple cider, hot choloate, popcorn, and etc.  You know we had to tube one more time before we left.  This is an excellent annual event to go enjoy with the family, but be warned that it does get crowded; so be prepared to wait in line for the rides
