Up and around look there is the MGM, the Awakening, and all the lights on the boats at the National Harbor; yeap you guessed it The Adventures of C.A.B. are taking a ride on the Capital Wheel. The Capital Wheel is a Ferris wheel at the National Harbor and at night it is lit up so pretty. We have always seen it off the Beltway and when I saw a Groupon advertise for it; I knew it was time. C.A.B. has ridden it before with his aunt and cousin; so this adventure is for mommy to ooh and awh. The Capital Wheel goes 180 feet above the Potomac River waterfront and the ride is so smooth; you barely feel yourself move. There are 42 gondolas that seat up to eight. They are climate controlled which really comes in handy because last night it was pretty chilly by the water.
When we first arrived at the wheel; I was excited and nervous. This was my first time on a Ferris Wheel; as we walked up they greeted us and asked if we wanted to take a picture. There wasn’t a line so we were able to just get right on. The view was breath taking not only from the top of the wheel, but every view and to set the mood the gondolas were playing music. The ride lasted about 10-15 minutes and I truly enjoyed myself. I will definitely be riding the Capital Wheel again; I am looking for a Groupon for it right now. The Capital Wheel is also running a few specials for Mother’s Day Mom’s ride free on Sunday May 14th and Teachers ride free every Tuesday in the Month of May with teacher ID.
