Build A Gingerbread House

Light Up The Wharf

Friday, December 1st; 5pm – 8pm, The District Wharf, 690 Water St SW, Washington, DC 20024

Kick off the holiday season at The Wharf with the official lighting of the Christmas Tree. Treat yourself to hot chocolate, enjoy s’mores at our fire pit, do some holiday crafts, and listen to live music for a bright and merry experience along the waterfront.

The District’s Holiday Boat Parade

Saturday, December 2nd; 4pm – 10pm, The District Wharf, 690 Water St SW, Washington, DC 20024

Join us as we celebrate the parade and see the beautifully decorated boats pass by. Get into the spirit with the guaranteed first snow of the season, and decorate your own boat. Sip hot cocoa and make s’mores at our fire pit. Visit our lighted Christmas Tree and enjoy other fun activities, including live music, and skating on our ice rink.

Santa Fly In

Saturday, December 2nd noon -4pm; College Park Aviation Museum, 1985 Cpl Frank Scott Drive, College Park, MD 20740. Cost $5

Santa will fly in and take pictures with children. Santa usually arrives at 12:30pm. Holiday art and crafts will be available throughout the museum.  All events are included with admission to the museum.

Holiday Hayrides

Bundle up and take a holiday hayride through the festival of lights at Watkins Park and warm up at a campfire at the Nature Center. The cost is $5 and space is limited.

National Christmas Tree

The National Christmas Tree and the Pathway of Peace with seasonal displays include a Yule log, a large-scale model train and a Christmas manger. They have a city built around the base with trucks, rescue vehicles, trucks, trains, and etc

Come see the national zoo transformed into a winter wonderland by lights at night. It is free, but the rides will cost. They have a slide, train, and carousel along with tasty treats.

Nats Winterfest

Maggianos Kids Cooking With Santa

The kids will receive their own Chef Hat and Apron that they will get to take home with them. We will demonstrate the rolling out process and decorating the cookies while they watch and interact with the Chef. They will return to their own prep station and make their very own Sugar Cookies that they will get to take home and bake for the family.

The class will begin with a small breakfast buffet that will include Scrambled Eggs, Buttermilk Pancakes, Bacon, Crispy Potatoes, Fresh Fruit, and Fresh Made Muffins.

Yards Park Kids Noon Yards Eve Celebration

The fourth annual Noon Yards Eve will feature tons of activities including  stilt walkers, clowns performing tricks, multiple moon bounces and slides, a trackless train, and face painting and a balloon drop at noon with a countdown and it is free.
